Just got a set of R&G frame crash protectors for my CBR6, but both of them are exactly the same. I thought they would be different lengths on each side. Is this just me being stoopid?

Why would you think they're different lengths?

I thought they replace the bolts that hold the fairing on, and so should be the same length, unless you've asked for different mountings?

R&Gs use the engine mounting bolts, not the bolts which attach the fairing to the frame.

Somebody told me they often come in different sizes for left and right sides of the engine. I've not taken the fairing off yet to test the fitting as I dont have a 25mm hole cutting drill yet.

On nights now until Monday morning so they wont be getting fitted until then. Might take pictures as the R&G site just has generic fitting instructions.

Sometimes they do - mine were the same length, but had different shaped necks. Some have different washers to fit on one side. Anyway, if you look harder, you'll see that it's there.

Mine came with a replacement engine mount bar, that went all the way through the engine. (Had to jack up the engine) and then undo and knock the old bolt out.

On mine you tighten no more than 40nm
