DVI cable/socket question

I got a gfx card with a vga out and a dvi out.. i got 2 monitors, 1 is on the vga, i want to put second monitor on the dvi (presume this will work!)

i have this socket on monitor

and was thinking of getting this cable, the pin layout looks like it'll fit both but is it deffo the right one to make it work??

Looks good to me, you just need to double check the dvi cable as there are a few different variations. As you can see on this pic it has extra pins in the area where yours is blank.

the dvi cable im looking at getting is the one in the pic, you can see the pin layout compared to the pin layout on my monitor and gfx card.. they layouts are all different in a way but they look like the general lay out is the same so will plug together.. i think anyway??

Wasnt the best pic to post to be honest, you just need to make sure that the cable you buy doesnt have the pins that go into the extra sockets you can see on the pic i posted. If so you'll be fine.
