After watching the race today I've decided to go watch the British GP at Donington. Got to be done if only for the noise of the bikes Thumbs Up

Ticket Info

I'm planning on just going up on Race day - July 2nd.

Anyone up for it?

Hopefully will be a bit drier than last year

Would definately ride - the traffic will be horrific even on a bike so there's no way I'm doing it in a car.

The route from AA gave a route but would like a little less motorway as hate motorway...too boring!

I really wanted to go this year! Damn holiday!

Andy go up on the bike, rain or shine, it makes you feel part of something big when you are on one bike of about 10,000 lmao.

Then you can piss off the car drivers at the end.

I'll be working there again this year so if you get chance do stop by and say hello!

For those of you who fancy the whole weekend but have been put off by the horrendous campsite and facilities of past years, there is good news. If you're going on your bike MAG are offering secure camping 5 mins away for the whole weekend, with entertainment in the evenings, for just £20.

Inside the main hall somewhere, on a stall called Motorcyclegifts.

I help out a mate, we sell tshirts, womens clothes, some dvds and vids (we are an official Ghostrider distributor this year), odd knickknacks etc.

I think I'll be there for friday practice - cheaper, less people and you see the racing better on TV!

Yeah, I'll be there. Might go for Saturday too.

Don't even consider the car unless you want to wait a few hours to get out of the circuit. Being on a bike was bad enough last year, took something like an hour and a half to get clear of the circuit! Evil or Very Mad

ive heard a few bad things about the security not letting you in with cooking gas, and or beer is this true, it says on the rules from the above link that you cant take above 15 kg in gas bottles in, but i read in mcn last year about people not being allowed to take any gas in at all, hence having to buy food and beer on site from the organisers at excessive cost. could any body confirm whether they have had this problem coz i wouldnt mind the ride out myself

I think me and my two mates had planned to make this one sometime, if it's the £80 for the weekend one. Look out for a battered GS500, a sexy ER-5 and a red and black ZXR400, that looks like it's just had a run in with a christmas tree and lost.

Not definite though.

If I do on that weekend then I'll be sure to ring one of you or if I notice you don't be shy Razz

I posted this a few months ago and (weather permitting!) still fully intend to ride up early on the sunday morning - If there's interest from others I'll start attempting to organise meeting places/times/ec on the various M5/M42 services or junctions - There's nothing like the feeling of riding up in a group even if it's on a bloody boring Motorway Thumbs Up

Any of the SE lot planning to head up on Sunday morning? Joe, you still fancy it?

Edit: Just noticed that they're charging £60 on the door this year. Shocked Admittedly I bought mine from a tout last year but I could've sworn the official price was £40ish.

Tickets are going for near enough £60 each on eBay now, and combined with the fact I'd have to get up at 6 or so it doesn't seem worth it.

Superbikes at Brands Hatch in August, anyone?

Tickets where £42 in advance Dom, yesterday was the last day for advance sales though I think (got mine at 5:00) I'm planning on going to brands, although it doesn't look like anyone else is https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=82667

Doh, I assumed advance sales would've close quite a while ago. Tbh I'm not all that fussed, especially as no other BCFers from down here seem to be going this year.

I definitely want to make it to Brands though - hopefully some more people will be interested in that nearer the date.
