PostPosted: 15:28 - 27 Mar 2006    Post subject: [FOR SALE] for project/ parts broken Reply with quote

I have an imported bike I purchased from ebay up for sale for use or to be broken. It is new but I got ripped off as the guy I purchased it from did not send me the import paperwork so I could not get it registered. PayPal and Ebay did not want to know about my gripe so I ended up stuck with it.

Also in delivery the keys for the bike were lost so needs a new set. It is now sitting in my rear garden covered up and I don't have the time to sort out registration/ SVA check etc so any offers will certainly be considered.

If you wanted to get it SVA checked then it will need a Kmh to Mph converter and UK road legal tyres.

It needs the front end fairing assembling and the brake fluid putting in (supplied as new - sealed) and the speedo fitted (just needs to be attached to wheel). I could not be arsed to assemble it once I found I had been ripped off.

The bike is a chinese import (GuoWei 200 model), 4 stroke, 200cc. Not sure about the rest of the spec but I may be able to find the info.

A pic below is how it will look once fully assembled which should be an easy task. If anyone is interested in buying it I am happy to sign a note of ownership detailing how I purchased it originally should this help get it registered for UK road use. I understand though that you do not need it to be registered for private land use???

As I said before - any offers welcome. I live in Selly Oak, Birmingham. I can get more pics if needed.

Seems a bit convenient that both the keys and registration weren't given to you - sounds like the seller nicked it to me. Confused

nah, I honestly do not believe it was nicked. There was a job lot of the bikes and I spoke to other buyers....they got their keys but not all got the import papers etc. plus it arrived in a crate

It is a lovely bike and it is full size....bigger than my NSR in fact. I would love to use it but honestly I do not have the time to get anything done about it. it would be better to pass it on in the hope it can be used as its a shame for it to just sit in my garden (covered).

before i forget again i best see about getting use of a trailer, lol.

ok no prob about pics but I will have to post them later this evening. Any particular parts you want a pic of? I paid £530 for the bike (inc. delivery) so letting it go for half of what I paid. Paid for it using paypal but they were as useful as a chocolate teapot when I complained and got nowhere with them.....f*ckers.

I better stop there otherwise I will go on about how b*llocks ebay and paypal are for customer protection.....the bloody liars, they do more to protect the conman than the decent customer.....ok, stopping rant now! lol

Sorry forgot to answer your question sunbear. From what I know after speaking to another person who got one of these bikes it will need the following:

A kph to mph converter
UK road legal tyres - I am not 100% sure on this, the ones on it may be ok.
New seat lock, ignition - as stated (or may be able to get keys cut to fit the locks)

SVA Check - should pass no probs once above done.
Registration - (a local dealer may be able to help especially if they do imports)
Road Tax

Not sure about bulbs or battery as these have never been tested. battery never been connected but it was new with the bike so hopefully ok.

I can't think of anything else. Parts such as the kph to mph convertor can be obtained cheaply at www.mandp.com

all depends on what parts but any local dealer should be ok. If you know Kings Norton at all in Birmingham then Chas Mann might be worth a look as they sell chinese imports as well. You never know they may be able to help with registering. Like I said when I found out I was ripped off I did not do anything with it. I think registration costs about £75....maybe someone else in this forum can confirm this?

It may sound a lot to add up in what needs to be done but consider how much dealers sell these things for.....still must be saving about a grand.

If you are interested then I would see if any local dealers can help and see what their thoughts are. I do not want to sell you something you wont be happy with and do not want to be accused of misleading you in anyway.

yeah I looked up the bike on the web and found next to nothing.........just some info on the manufacturers who apparently produce a range of bikes (sports, monkey etc) and ATVs in China and export them.

I would not have thought parts would be too difficult to get as I understand the engines are Honda clones. Importers should be able to help.....again check with a local dealer.

When I did my CBT my instructor said that we are going to be seeing a boom in imorted chinese bikes as they are cheap to produce there and that the quality wise they are going from strength to strength. He told us that if we did not have a bike then they would make great beginner bikes or good for commuting.

The bike should run but has never been tested due to me not having the keys Crying or Very sad

I will try if someone can tell me how to hotwire it! lol

That wont always work, it depends on your ignition setup, if you did that on either of my bikes you would just short everything.
