Last Sunday was the first round of Darley Moors MCRRC 2006.
Now whereas I'm not too impressed with the track itself........For a spectator I'd class it somewhat of a hole.
But I went along to support the first race (or 5) of a friend. Thumbs Up

Ian (fastyan) was in races 3,5,13,15 & 21. He finished them all & not one was a last place position. Razz

So well done Yan......Keep at it & I expect you to win next time since you'll have ridden the track before then. Wink Laughing

Well done Thumbs Up.

Not to bad result in the newcomers race where everything's a bit more level Smile.

What's Darley Moor like as a club?

I was there on Saturday for practice day.

My mate is the travelling marshall at Darley and I used to race there as a sidecar passenger.

I like the place, admittedly it needs a bit doing to it but the circuit itself is suprisingly tricky in places. My mate's parents look after more or less everything with the help of volunteers. I spent one weekend there repairing the fences at the hairpin.

I know it's not Oulton Park or Brands Hatch...it is what it is.... a club racers circuit. No Frills racing if you like.

They could do with some goddamn seats or at least less mud.

I don't wish to be the club spokesperson but I will mention any comments that people raise to the staff at the club.

Seating isn't a major issue but obviously at this time of year it's damn muddy which was not good at all, obviously it's a small club, they can't afford to whack up some big seating areas.

I'm just too used to the luxuries of big name tracks.

They do get a few celebs there though. Hawk Kawasaki were there for pre-season testing and usually make an appearance at the season ending "Stars At Darley" and James Whitham loves the place. Did anyone see Superbike School on Men & Motors a while ago that was good old Darley with Mr. Whitham.

well have to say was a good first race... never been to darley moor before so managed to fit in a few sessions practice on the sat but didnt' start to feel comftable until the end of the day on sun

the start is definately interesting as you try and fit 4 riders next to each other round a chicane and haev to say the first couple of times i went into there i held back a bit as there were a few races i saw where people went down straight away .. lol

i wont' be entering stocksport next time as everyone else was running 1000's so i didnt' stand much chance.. lol and also i didnt' have time between race 13 and 15 to change into wets which was certainly interesting as i've never pushed supercorsa's that much on a wet track but was suprised how well they gripped... but i was very suprised how much standing water there was around the track especially on the entrance to the back chicane which was very dodgy

oulton park is the next one on the list i'm thinking about and just hope it rains lol - although the entrance fees are quite high for that and there is only 2 classes i can enter.. although i want to do a cadwell one as feel at home there:D
