I was out on the bike this morning, when i rode it back into the garage i noticed loads of staples all over the floor, not sure where they came from, anyway for some reason i thought to check my tyres, The back one has something in it which is mettle but would need prising out as its deeply embeded, and its allso got stepped tred due to it been low air pressure for a few months, something i never noticed as i was just getting back on it after an accident and trying to get the feel of the bike again, I thought the bike felt different but put that down to being off it for 6 months, felt so much better after having tyres filled lol.

Anyway who would recomend a new tyre????

I know I need to go get it checked, but now i know something is in it i'm paranoid, I cant afford to come off the bike again if it was to go on me while out on it.

If you can afford it, just get the new tyre. I don't think anyone on this forum could cope with a blowout at 30, let alone 70. Don't risk it.

I would've of though the smaller the hole, the higher the chance of a blowout Groove...

I have had two blow outs on bikes. Both at 30, and both really shit me up.

The back wheel jumped out by a foot and tried to overtake the front, and the brakes were pathetic as I couldn't really squeeze them as the bike was proper out of shape.

A circus like balancing act and quick responses saved it both times, but I won't be letting it happen a third time!

If I was any faster I wouldn't like to know the concequences, so I don't take any chances anymore. It the tyre has something in it, I have it repaired or replaced, and always have Slime in the tyres.

I walked away from a front blow out/delamination with a new tyre on the M1 at over 110mph.

Nothing wrong with tyre plugs to fix a puncture.

Lucky git! was it an explosive blow out, or gradual depressurisation?

I personally wouldn't trust tyre plugs. Call me paranoid, but i'd rather have a new tyre knowing it's good to go.

I was looking at my tyre some more tonight and really hate the fact its got hell of alot of miles left on it but i dont want to risk it, I pulled out a small nail from the tyre and it was nearly a cm long added to the step tread i guess i got no choice.

call me old and wise but its simply not worth it, you decrease your chances of coming off unscathed the minute you go from 4 wheels to 2, but to risk the most basic and the only thing between you and the road....your tyres, your right to go for a new one!

Tyre weld is only temporary solution I thought...dunno...only used it in cars.....
