Hi,

Think it's been doing it since I got it...

But when I pull away from lights, I have to let the clutch out slowly and not let it out fully until I can 'feel' the gear 'click' into place... Is this normal? Slipping the clutch until I can feel the gear click or is something majorly fucked? The bike moves if it hasn't clicked but is fucking gutless.

Also have noticed, sometimes if I let the clutch out too fast/at too high revs it makes a horrible grinding noise and lurches forwards.

What were you going to do to have a look? Inspect the clutch plates?

Yeah they're used quite often as field bikes.

To be honest the fact I have to wait for it to 'click' sometimes before I get any power worries the bollocks off of me.

Hi Toby,

So you can't find first unless the clutch is slightly out? I get that on mine sometimes (often when I change down after coming to stop rather than as I slow). But I also had it on the SR125 I had on my CBT, and the instructor just told me to select first with the clutch slightly out, and that's what I do to this day if it happens.
He didn't seem to think it was a major mechanical failure.

Also, my CG got stolen. Scrote joyriding is all I think, they dumped it about a kilometre away (limited joy factor I suppose!).

Hmm,

Felt a bit better this time.

I'm at odds to what it is

I always change my oil, but I do ride it pretty hard (Is there any other way to ride a CG?)

I take it you've checked the clutch cable adjustment ?? Has it always done it ? if not it could be a developing problem with the clutch or gear selector.

It doesn't sound normal to me, the CG I did my CBT on was perfect and they get treated like crap.

Yeah I adjusted the clutch last night a bit.

It's always done it as far as I can remember, only happens if I let the clutch out too fast though...

The thing where it goes gutless until the gear clicks in is random.

So the phenomenon is not the one I was talking about? It has nothing to do with the gear pedal part of the process? Just interested really.

Yeah, I guess the SR I mentioned could've been 'tired' like my CG is now you mention it, although it seemed perkier.

Cheers,
