Wireless connection trouble

For ages I have had my Linksys wireless devices communicating without fault. Since monday, I can no longer access the LAN or internet. It's odd because the utility that came with the adapter says I am connected. I can connect, as long as Windows reports that I am not connected, but as soon as the taskbar icon changes and says 'connected', I lose connection Confused

I know that D-Link adapters allow you to turn off Windows managment, but I can't seem to find the option for it with Linksys. It's odd though that it should just happen out of the blue.

Go to network connections, go to properties of you wifi card and then go to the wireless networks tab, there will be a use windows to configure my wireless network settings.

You haven't turned on MAC address filtering on the Wifi access point have you?

What card is it? Also what access point?

The router is BEFW11S4 V4 the adapter is WMP11. Yes MAC filtering is enabled, but has been for months now.

Sorry, just re-read the question, you could try disabling the "Wireless Zero Configuration Service". Would stop windows trying to take control of the Wifi card.

Hi,

This can be because something (like you neighbours new wirless lan) is interferring with id.

Try changing the channel by 2, and have you move the cordless phone next to it or something ?

Next door is on channel 11, I'm on 6. No phones near the transceivers at all.

Edit: It seems that disabling the Wireless Service has worked. Thanks Davo Thumbs Up
