Question Any one made there own carb tune / balancer, grudge paying £40 for some thing il prob only use once or twice. Pics would be helpful

To be honest Andy, unless you're sure you can get it right I'd stick with a bought one, you can always sell it on again afterwards on ebay!!! There's other things to worry about apart from the level of vaccum, you need to account for the pulsing effect caused by the vaccum not being constant, you need some means of averaging out the vaccum, and of course you need to be sure it's accurate!

I did my twin with a couple of cheap car vacuum gauges I had in the shed, wound the tickover up to about 3K so the pulsing smoothed out before adjusting, then just minor tweaks on the pilot screws to get it ticking over smooth at normal idle.
