yeh had similar a while back... Would try to pull away and it would bog right down and just die away. No amount of throttle brings the revs back.. was the fuel vacuum hose in the end..Had completely rotted... Before that I tried new plug and cleaned the air filter.. a good nose about found it was the vacuum hose. I took it in for a service after that too since it needed retuning. Not had a problem since...

sounds like its being starved of air/fuel so id check anything related to that.
