I cant believe it, the trip is on!

Presented the Mrs with a map earlier today, with a highlighted line going from our house, all the way to Salou in Spain, 1053 miles.

She shot off to work, and I just got a phone call saying, "Actually, I quite like the idea of that, and we might not get the chance again for a while, lets do it!" I nearly fell of me chair!

So, in July next year, we're off on the KLE, down to Dover, and then onwards to Espania! Don't know where to start! Seems I'm a bit to early to book the ferry yet, and I've not even got a fixed timescale yet, a think a good map might be a good start!

Expect more as the saga progresses!

Hope you have a great time. we are going to Lloret in spain in June on our bikes. We booked the ferry months ago and also the stops we are planning on the way. I think we did it so there was no going back. I am a little anxious about the distance but cant wait to go.

I know, it seems a little surreal at the moment, I've got to book something soon before she changes her mind!

The distance doesn't really bother me too much, it's only a few days, it's just that with the missus, I have to make sure that we have a place to stay, and have proper food. If I was on my own, I would rough it a bit, camp as much as possible, and just eat whatever, but I need to look after her, so it's as many hotels as possible, and proper warm food.

I can't expect her to tolerate too much hardship, the back seat is uncomfy enough! It just makes the logistics a bit more complicated and costly.

I know what you mean! I think she was talking about the bigger scheme of things though!

We need to buy a bigger house sometime after the trip, and will be having a kid almost straight after aswell, so it will be years before something like this is possible again.

At the minute, all we have is our jobs, and a really cheap house, so there is nothing stopping us, but it has to be 2007 because we are getting married this year. Believe me, a wedding puts a stop to anything in the same year, I still can't believe how much it's costing, and we are doing it on the cheap!

well if you are trying to get married on the cheap why not honeymoon on the bike to spain that way you can still go next year as well
