I would stay with the main manufactuers..... Parts will be a utter bastard if something goes wrong.

if your after a cheap 125 with a honda engine, get a Honda CG125!
As said before, the Jinlun will be hard to get parts for, and build quality won't be as good.

Thanks for that not that keen on the CG125 but ill keep it in mind as for the parts ive been doing a bit of home work and found that the parts are easy to get found a company that do them and with 24hr delivery and the prices are about the same as other 125's.
Ill keep looking about for now as theres no real hurry.
Again thanks for your input.

i have got a baimo renegade exactly the same as the jinlun. to be honest the bike its self i great looking and big these are the reasons i got it what a mistake it has just cost me 450 quid to fix and its not out of the garage yet parts are a bomb bits fall of and is very slow. if you like the cruiser idea xvs dragstar or the suzuki intruder wipe the floor with the chink bikes and are better looking too. happy hunting

as l have a jinlun 125/11.l have to say it is good bike to ride.
to cruise it is brillant for speeed not very good.
as for spare parts their is four company`s that sell them and repair them one scotland, one in the north, one in the midlands, one in the southend on sea, word of warning as far maintenance for the bike most places will not touch them, you might have to go back to the main dealer.also make sure you get a maintenance manual (you will find it hard to get one) with the bike and it has been run in. bar this it is a good bike Laughing

I'd stick to a CG to be honest.

Seen one outside work, it's ugly and held together with gaffa tape.

Hiya

One of the local bike places (not a dealership may I add) warned very strongly against the purchase of any of these cheap imported motorcycles for the reasons above. He also cited the example of the woman who works the shop for him's boyfriend having had one that snapped rear shock absorbers/mountings for fun.

The problem then was, the place he bought it from got that sick of doing warranty work on his, and other machines that they gave up the dealership and refused to carry out any more work

With the cost of CG hondas/SR yamaha etc at a pittance, I would SERIOUSLY recommend getting a mainstream bike for parts back up in the future, as well as now.

Phil

PS: if youre 42, why not do DAS and then get something like a suzuki GS500/Kawasaki er 5/ honda CB500? Im 26 with no experience, and am looking at £200-300 f/c for insurance. The bike itself cost me £400 and will have ten times as many places doing parts for it!
