I have AMI (American Megatrends, Inc.) BIOS on my PC and AFAIK I used to press DEL on start up to get into it.

I've tried pressing DEL about every half second from the moment I turn on the PC but it boots into Windows Confused

Anyone help me?

You just converted from a Ps/2 keyboard to a USB one?

Try it with a PS/2 keyboard.

Problem solved guys I was being an idiot.

New problem though, the reason I wanted to get into my BIOS was to add a DVD drive that I added some time ago to the boot sequence. However, the DVD drive isn't in the list of things to boot from. Do I need to update my BIOS?

No.

The DVD drive is just known as a CD drive. Put it as CD drive in the boot sequence and it'll work.

I have a ATAPI CD Drive in the list, maybe the version of XP I have on DVD isn't bootable?

I have a couple of old PC's that won't boot from DVD at all. I always assumed it was the age of them. They have ATAPI CD, or just CDROM in the BIOS boot list, but will only actually boot from a CD, not a DVD.

I ended up burning the OS's I wanted to CD instead, so I don't know an actual fix for this.
