Wheels sticking

Hi all.

I've been finding that when I go to move the bike in the morning or after its been standing a day or two that the wheel sticks and i have to give the bike a shove to get it to free up. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

I've thought either the brakes are binding or the bearings are?

If you put it away when damp, the pads can cause localised corrosion and stick to the discs (as pads contain tiny iron filings), no real cure except try a different make of pad, some are worse than others. Wouldn't expect a bearing to cause it tbh.
Other cause could be a caliper piston sticking or pads tight/corroded into the caliper and causing it to stick.

Hi

As above, but generally FAR worse if you have cast iron disks (and loads of aftermarket replacement disks are cast iron).

Dont use sintered pads in the winter. The high metal content combined with road salt can corrode the disks overnight and cause serious scarring of the disk surface leading to premature wear.
