Question i got asked today, from a fellow biker

Today when riding along looking stupid on my ped, a r1 pulled along side of me and started talking to me, he said i hope your going to do your test and i said yer, then he followed by saying,,,


Whats the first thing you do when you crash ?


common guys what do you think ?

I closed my eyes and lay still, so I could assess what happened and how I was. Then I got up and picked up the bike, wheeled it to the pavement, and put it on it's stand.

i swore all the way thru crashing to picking my bike up.....and then proceeded to ride back to mine while swearing profusely........

Right so you were riding along, and a guy on an R1 pulled along side you, still riding, and engaged you in full conversation, while still riding. I think Mr. R1 rider should be doing his test again, obviously not giving the road his full attention

Oh by the way I picked the bike up brushed myself off and got back on. : - )

When I slipped on ice before on a main road, I quickly got up and ran to the safety of the pavement. assessed for further danger, nothing was coming, moved bike to pavement, put it on the stand, tested to see if it was OK and still started, then road away after everything seemed to be OK. Went home and had a cuppa

I was told by a motorbike track day instructor that: 'If you crash or fall off and you are in the middle of the track, get up if possible, look for on coming traffic, if non, get off the track ASAP and on to the grass or over the barrier, if traffic is approaching, stand still and they will more than likely dodge you. Do not attempt to make a run for it because they will be swerving to miss you and you might run into them and you will not outrun them!'
