Dear BCF.

My best mate and I are going to the BIG Capital at the beginning of May.
We are leaving the land of the sheep on the saturday morning, Hotel TBC.
Sunday is taken up with going to see 'The Lion King' and then afterwards we have a black tie event. So basically we want to get absolutely fekking wasted on the Saturday night! Very Happy Thumbs Up
Our hotel is being paid for courtesy of LTSB so will definately be centralised!

Please can you help as neither of us have ever been on a night out there before, and want a really good night out on the Saturday!
Recommendations for pubs, clubs, karaoke bars, etc would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks! xXx

More to the point, keep EVERYTHING in inside pockets, and inside bags.

Plenty of professional lifters who commute into london to prey on tourists.

Im usually very blaze about it, but not in london. Specially on the tube.

Ok.. so it's a case of emergency money in my boots then is it?
(I usually have some in the handbag, some in the pocket, and some in the boots) Wink

So now you know, I suppose I ought to watch out for anyone dodgy looking in a bike jacket eh? Laughing

I easily blew £150 on my first ever night out clubbing in London. That was in Equinox(Leicester Sq) with a few mates after going to the cheap places like lloyds bar previous. I only managed to stay in there for a couple of hours. Me and a mate got kicked out for annoying some bar staff and ouncers and kicking off! Oooh, what a fun day.

For some reason, lots of local radio station dj's talk with a slight london accent, I dont know why because they're not from london. I think they're trying to sound cool by beeing ''abit of a geezer like''.

Don't forget that some clubs charge as much as £30 entrance fee (if not more; often less if you're a girl, but only if you're hot).

I would recommend the musical 'we will rock you'. Don't know much about the clubbing scene, only the gentleman's clubs. Avoid the soho ones like plague. A friend of mine was forced to cough up £120 for just 4 or five drinks! As far as eating places go, there are too many to mention. If you like Thai, then the Blue Elephant in Fulham Broadway is the place to go. Probably the best Thai food you can get outside Thailand, and not ridiculously priced either! They are always fully booked, so reserving early maybe a good idea.

Thanks for that! Very Happy Thumbs Up

I have got to go see the Lion King. (It's all paid for!)
But I will definitely chack out some places youve mentioned!

Don't bother with booze. Get yourself a few pills and head down to Fabric.

Indeed, also worth checking The End when there's a Ram Records night on.

According to the Squaremeal site, out of 50 Thai restaurants in London, the Blue Elephant came in at number 4 as far as price was concerned. It's a lovely place and the food is good, but nothing amazing apparently.

Every ingredient used in the preparation of food at the blue elephant is flown in fresh daily from Thailand! Even the flowers used to decorate the place are flown in from Thailand daily! The food is amazing, but as far as Tom-Yum soup goes, my local Thai place in Warrington does slightly better, as the chef learnt cooking the old fashioned way in Thailand, and doesn't 'anglicize' it to appeal to popular tastes; great if you like proper Thai Tom-Yum. Very sipcy! I've eaten in quite a few Thai restaurant's across the country, from Bournemoth to Warrington, and in my personal ratings, Blue Elephant still comes on top. As far as expenses go, the Blue Elephant is a fairly posh place, so you pay for the decor, service etc. If I remember correctly, a 4 course meal + wine came to less than 120 quid for 2 people about a year or so back. Service is excellent even if you go dressed very casual. I went to Brian Turner's restaurant in one of the swanky hotels in London (forgot the name), and the experience paled in comparison to the Blue Elephant. The food was okay, but far too expensive, and if you didn't wear an expensive suit, service was poor. Not a place I'd go back to.
