Hey Guys,

I just wondered if all the young (17-21) riders with 600cc sportsbikes could do me a favour. Could you please list the following;

- Year & Type of Bike
- Age
- Insurance Cover
- Insurance Cost
- Insurance Company

Every quote I've been getting is over £1300, I have one claim on a car from March 2005 however I can still insure the RVF400 for £370.00 and have 3.5yr's NCB. Whats even more maddness is I have a 260bhp car which would actually eat the 400cc and the 600cc alive when it comes to speed!!

Insurance is crazy, no wonder so many people go uninsured!!

Not that you class me as young anymore Razz (I'm 25) but you should be able to beat that qoute mate.

Kawasaki ZX-6R

TPFT
About £600
Kawasaki Direct Insurance (K-Care?)

Bike is garaged, with alarm and is insured and domestic and pleasure only (not commuting). Also can't take pillions (like I would anyway as they'd f*ck up the handling Laughing )

Cheers guys, going to try some of those companies and try TPO quotes too. One thing I'm going to do is phone every where and give them the same bike / details / value and hopefully from that I can find a competitive company.

Oni - Trust me, 260bhp and 1100kg's and it'll eat the RVF alive, and same for my friends 1999 ZXR. I'm a die hard bike fan rode trials for just short of 16 years and been on the road since my 16th birthday. But I just cant belive how a hatch back can be so quick, on the corners it's a different matter though even with racing suspension.

And I'm talking 100mph to 160mph pulling speed, the bike has the cars pant down on the lower speed and acceleration.

It's a SEAT Ibiza Cupra, it uses the 1.8T engine as found in the TT and S3 however it's 'slightly' modified. When I first got into my SEAT's I had a 1.4 and everyone used to tell me about a guy (who's now a personal friend) who has an IHI 360bhp one, and people used to go on about how fast it was.

Me been a biker never believed them and thought it was slow, but f**k me, it runs right off the clock and back to the stop pin with no hesitation!!

Anyway I don't want to turn this into a car/bike battle thread I'm just after some good incurance companies! Very Happy

Pretty impressive if a 1.8 does 160.

Maybe the 400's but i seriously doubt it would beat a 600. 0-60 - 3.2 with the average top speed of a decent 600 sports bike is about 165.
