Tyres - Recommendation For Black Circles

just thought i would share, trx had two dead macadams on it when i bought it

went to blackcircles.com monday night whacked in my tyre sizes front and rear, it gives you all the availible tyres in your size, cheapest at the top, worked my way down the list to find sticky bridgestones, and got a 012 front, and a 014 rear delivered to my door wednesday morning, for the cost of £135 including the courier delivery

took the wheels off myself, a first for me on bikes as far as changing tyres go, as i now have a car to sling them into and cart them to the tyre bay myself, ride in tyres reading charged a tenner a wheel to replace the old with new (and dispose of the old), new valves, and balance, and he even wiped the rims down for me and pumped them up to correct pressure

took about half hour to get the wheels off this morning, as first time i had done it on trx, little bit longer to put them back on cos i like to degrease, clean and regrease all the bits plus you need 3 hands to hold both spacers, lift the wheel, and slide the axle through, but i always tend to get there in the end

so that brings that tyre change for two nice sticky bridgestones to £155 quid, cheapest pair of tyres ive ever had, plus a few hours spannering in the sun

I've used Black Circles several times and can't recommend them enough!

Didn't realise they did bike tyres though. I've got some discount vouchers for them sitting in my inbox (only 10%).

Use them for my car. Well, used to use them.

The garage pointed out that black circles actually buy the tyres off the garage and and sell them to the public.

Hence, you can give the garage the option of selling you the tyres at black circle prices, or going to black circles who will buy the same tyres off the same garage for less.

Cut out the middle, you pay the same, or a token amount less, and the garage makes more profit.

Everyone is happy.



Just had a look at the bike prices. Not too sure how they compare to my dealer.
