I finally did it on my second attempt, on a massive euphoric high. Now here’s the question what bike to get?? What’s good for a newly qualified biker…. Any advice?

Well done.

Try a few bikes, and get whatever you think suits you best, bear in mind they'll all be 33bhp for a time unless you're one of those other types.

congrats on passing mate! as for what bike, depends on how good your self controll is, whatever you get will only go as fast as the twist of your wrist afterall! sensible rules to follow would be nothing to heavy as you have to manouver it at low speed and get used to it without dropping it big bikes are alot heavyer than 125's and nothing too expensive for a little while until theres the experiance there. have a search through newbie bit im sure this question will have been asked many times before

i personally went for a zxr750 got a nice bit of midrange grunt to it, and is quite old so cheap incase i did drop it, but it is a little on the heavy side and a pain at lower speed manouvering. but with hindsight i think a cbr600f would have been better as its a more comfy!

I passed my test a few weeks ago and I bought a Suzuki GSF600 and i'm very pleased with my choice. Parts are easy to get hold of, cheap insurance, handles lovely, quick enough and it was cheap to buy Thumbs Up

Snap Cool

I wouldn't recommend a sports bike as a first bike as mentioned by Bullet unless your used to that particular style

I went for a hornet and suits me fine, its all down to personnal preference and what you feel is comfy to ride at the end of the day. I like the look of the sports bikes but cant imagine riding in that position for a long period of time not to say that one day I wont get one, who knows Mr. Green

Well done mate... i hope i pass mine next year Very Happy

if you have ridden a sports bike beffore, eg... rs125, and like the blast style of riding then yeah go for a sports bike, but if its your first bike then i would go for somthing more comfy like a cbr600f or any sports touror, as you wont want to be going slow Very Happy trust me Very Happy
