Ok guys, i'm getting the R1 back on the road this week (woo!)

I currently have this Shoei XR1000 helmet...
https://images.google.co.uk/images?q=tbn:hOUAhMxSwvqJyM:www.diseno-art.com/images/Shoei_XR1000.jpg

And this silver jacket:
https://images.google.co.uk/images?q=tbn:vePcPT0ApZ36QM:www.hideout-leather.co.uk/assets/system.image_vault/alpinestars_leather_jacket_dyno_grey.jpg

Can someone recommend me a decent set of boots under £200 that are comfy and would go with the rest of the gear / bike (because i'm a bit of a tart!)

Oh and on a seperate note do any of you south-east lot know where I could get some powder coating done done for a good price in surrey / west sussex?

Cheers.

Personally I stick with Sidi...
Vertigo for the warmer weather (I have the black & grey ones), and Black Rain for the wet.

I tend to go for function rather than looks, but would advise that if you go for Sidi, you should try them on 1st, cos their sizes tend to be on the small side

Have a look at the Spidi XPD-5 boots. I had them before. Really nice looking and very well armoured. Think they go for about £139.

Well, Sidi's are good, but a little slim on the width of your foot, so they squeeze your toes and pad, Oxtar are ok, but hard on the sole for walking.

I'd go for Alpinestar, mx's they are well padded, all usual Armour and removable toe sliders, i can ride in mine for ever and feel comfortable, which is rare for racing boots, and walk around in them too, at shows and bike nights...... Good colours and after 18 months they still look good as they clean up great.... at £ 149.99 takes a lot to match them in that price band, and as you own an Alpinestar jacket too.....

But thats what i think, go down your local shop, try on loads and spend a few minutes in them walking around the shop, ask for a fresh pair as the ones on the shelf would of been tried on loads... happy hunting dude, let us all know how you got on...

Wink

I have the black and grey ones as well, and the adjustable backs are a stroke of genius. Makes them so much more comfortable. They also go with any bike gear because of the colour and they're also a pretty cool style. Can't comment on the fit because i have small, girly feet and i think they're actually quite roomy! lol. Picked mine up for £160 Thumbs Up

Worn my sidi vertebre2 (the older ones) for 2years pretty much every day, wind, rain, snow, hail whatever, these have stayed suppriseingly watertight (never had it comeing right through at least) warm enough (down to -5) and comfy, even for walking about in town (noit the best mind)

You will need to try them on defenately! These are 10's and my normal shoe size is 8... must be an italian thing Confused

Will be gettingsome of the black rain sidis if these ever give up, they aren't doing bad though considering the hammer they get Thumbs Up

I've had loads of boots and have always come back to Sidi. Black rains for winter (one size bigger than usual for thicker socks) and Vertebra 2 for summer.

I tried Alpinestars (SMX+) and they were truly shocking, I went through three pairs in a year (under warranty of course) and the last ones are still at the bottom of my bike wardrobe with a busted zip. Pile of arse.

Cheers

Absolutely not.

Although they are quite commen, at £130 you can't complain. Waterproof as well (for us commuters)

https://www.hellmart.com/Images/Sidi/Boots/BlackRainEvo/Black.jpg

They've been good enough to take one fall thus far and still come out ok.
