Just a thought, would you be able to move to america then carry on your pilot training? Then you get the best of both worlds Smile

Well children, you've been surpringly helpful. Wasn't expecting that.

I'm thinking about going with the advice, not necessarily with the numbers.

So I'm getting some quotes for doing my pilots training, but doing as much of it as possible in America. Should be able to live out there for about 9 months doing it, then come back here and try to be a pilot in Europe.

And the American girl? She quite likes the idea of living over here...

So watch this space.

You might want to consider moving to America and doing an FAA commercial license as they are much easier and cheaper to do than a JAA/CAA one.

They are, but that binds me to the America flying job market, which is going down the pan at the mo, and requires lots of hours to get in.
May well end up holding an FAA and a JAA IR though.
