If I stuck a Gixxer1100 Engine in my frame would I need a Q plate?

Your log book is primarily concerned with your frame/chassis number, so the answer is "no". My engine number is ommited from my V5.

Hi

No you would not need a Q plate (and you really dont want one). Q is query as to the age, and is basically chassis related. You might get hit for it if you had tried registering it originally with the 750 chassis and an 1100 engine.

By the way a GSXR1100 engine will not be that cheap. Basically the same engine as the 1200 Bandit and the best deal I got for a 2nd hand one was £650, but that is without the carbs, alternator or starter motor

Hi

Think you will need the carbs, starter and alternator and almost definatly the cdi unit as well as the engine. Exhausts will probably be needed, but not sure, same for oil cooler.
