I don't know if anyone has just been watching BBC1s Watchdog, but they have just had an article on a Courier company Logistic Link, alledgedly couriers sign up to go on their books for a fee of 39 quid but no-one has ever recieved any work from them. Basically you are registering yourself as a freelance courier but out of 1800 companies they claim that use their services 1790 of them haven't even heard of Logistic Link. So potentional couriers beware.

kind of an obvious trick in that you have to pay first to get contacts ,

though then again people could confuse this with the payment required to get a radio fitted to their bike

Sadly I was working so I missed it, thanks for posting that. I will have a look at the BBC website for more details, sounds interesting.

Yeh it was - some bloke gave up his factory job so he could be it full-time, signed up with them and literally sat at home with his mobile in his hand for 3 days and didn't get a single call. They claim the minimum hours they will ever offer would be 24 hours in a week and once "word got round and the bloke proved himself to be reliable" he would be up to 48 hours a week. I think the wage worked out a 5 quid an hour. Watchdog contacted all the couriers on the list and out of all the people on their books only 7 had ever recieved any work!! Total scam

Been in and around the Courier industry for the last 13 years in Central London and never heard of this company but I do know the scam well.
