Well tis a sad thing in a way but it looks like I may be getting rid of the Gixer and getting a Mille, been playing on my mind for some time now, how much is my bike worth, and how much will it be worth in another year or so's time with the amount of mileage it gets?
Well after much thinking I made a call to the place where I got it from (on yer bike) which I have to say have the best customer service going, to get a rough trade in price, 3k is what they said on the phone, but obviously they would need to see it to give me an exact quote, was alittle suprised as I was hoping for alittle more but I can't say until I take it to them.
Let me stress here that I have no problems what so ever with the gixer, to me its been the perfect bike, never had any problems with it. Not bored or anything with it just I can't afford to see the value of it drop like this.
I'm striking while the irons hot so to speak, and with a half decent trade in value it leaves me with options to look at other bikes with less mileage and so on. And the Aprilia's are going for very good used prices lately aswell as it being my all time fav bike. (so no biased views there )
So my dream bike is in sight of thee
What I'm asking is what and how you come to a decision to move on before its too late as such? Is there a certain limit you reach on the clock before you think ah shit better start looking around now otherwise I'll get shafted if I try and sell my bike?
If your loaded then this won't make sense, but to us poor folk who want to always have a decent bike in the garage and to keep with the times.....it just seems a pain in the arse. ____________________ 2004 RSV Factory

Go for it.
So many bikes and so little time.
The only thing that keeps me from changing more often is blagging rides on other bikes. |

You know when the time's right. You can get your dream bike, and if you get a px on your gixxer or sell it privately, you should get your dream bike even cheaper.
If you don't go for it, how long will you kick yourself thinking "what if!?" Go for it, and whatever happens, don't regret it.

Well I'm going down there saturday to hopefully get the final quote, and see where it goes from there really.
Got my eye on a 2001 model red/black, only has 7000 miles on it, going for 4k, also have one in red with similar mileage.
How I'll miss the GSXR though
Previous owner done 3000 miles in 2 years, I got the bike exactly 2 years old. Less than a year later I have put 10,000+ onto it ____________________ 2004 RSV Factory

It's that time of year. Ebay or Biketrader should get you a decent price - but - you'll still take the depreciation hit. Whichever way you look at it, you're going to lose against what you think the gixxer's worth. That's life.
Make sure you get a decent test ride on the mille before you do anything though... ____________________ "That's it. You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college."

I have done it!
I have left my Gix behind for a Mille (All Red)
Collect it on the 2nd may, only have to pay 900 to make up the price which is very good.
So Its a very sad day in a way as I had my last ride of my Gix, Rode 60.1 miles to her resting place and gave her a pat on the seat.
But atleast I can say I had a faultless bike which I will always remember the good times with.
I'll get picks ASAP. ____________________ 2004 RSV Factory
