i was exiting an island and somehow ended up in the road dirt, tried to stop as soon as i seen it, i instantly knew i was going into it for some reason, i wast even speeding, i was going about 35 max, i ended up locking up the rear and the front hit the curb on the central reservation, i slid the bike and my legs took out the the light thing, i come to a stop just behind my bike after landing on my head and left shoulder and then sliding and tumbling for about 5 meters
it took the ambulance about 25-30 mins to get to me Evil or Very Mad
the police blocked off the whole road
i was in the hospital for ages, about 2-3 hours, all they did was asses me take x-ray's and keep asking me if i had been given any pain killers, the answer was no, every time till about 5 mins before they let me go home Evil or Very Mad

It's binnin' season...

Nah sorry to hear that mate, I'm out too after a bike-seeking-missile in the shape of a fiesta ran me down on Friday. Sucks, doesn't it?

Hope the bike's easily fixable for you, and you'll be hurting a lot more in the morning, I know!

And on that note, time to update the spill counter!

Jon

Ever heard of "Target fixation"?

This is a strange thing whereby when riding a motorcycle, if you look at something (such as a drain cover), you instinctivley steer towards it.

The solution is to look at the route you want to take to avoid the hazard rather than the hazard itself. This is harder than it sounds and takes practice.

I find the best way to practice is to use it to avoid riding over arrows painted on the road (which is a good idea anyway, they are slippy when wet) and to ride across the bottom of the 'L' on a 'SLOW' marking.
