Well last Friday Me and Dodsi went on a rideout, decided the night before at 2 AM on the spur of the moment, luckily I had the day off college on the Friday so we decided to meet up at Squires then go to Stokesly/Helmsley run (North Yorkshire TT). Took off from mine and then on York nearly got flattened by some div in a lorry who didn't look as he was changing lanes, lucky on that one. Met up at Squires at around 12, where we saw this fine specimen of a motorcycle. The owner owns Squires too and wants £10,000 for it, craigs23 would have been drooling over how clean it was. Low mileage too. Me and dodsi agreed if we owned it we would be too scared of riding it, I mean look at it!

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/picture_33_.jpg

Anyway we made a move, got to Thirsk and had a rest and a petrol stop. Wasn't as fun as it should have been so far, my bike only does 80mph for some reason Confused We then got to another little town in Thirsk, had a coke at the pub and then got on the way. On the way down, my life was saved by a guy in a lorry who told me to slow down as there was cow pat all over the road ahead, and at the speed I was going it would have throw me off. Karma to the lorry driver for that. We got to Helmsley, and had another quick rest. I was expecting a brilliant, twistified road that had everything you need to have fun.

I wasn't let down.

It was amazing, 19 miles of pure biking bliss, as Rick once described it: 'It's like having séx with a woman that has breast milk made of lager and a fanny like the nicest tasting kebab ever.' Although I've never actually partaken in such an event, I know what it probably feels like. The sun came out too which was a nice turn up for the books, just amazing. There was a guy on what seemed like a Hornet 600 following us too. Thanks to dodsi for putting up with Me and going slowly so I don't get left behind Thumbs Up Smile Though he owned me at 140mph on a straight. Sad <- Not amused.

We eventually stopped and I took a few snaps, dodsi offered me a go on the ZX6R, but I evidently declined Laughing Here's the pictures:

Anyway then we got to the bike shop somewhere or other, and dodsi bought something or other, and then we parted ways, I ended up going the wrong way up the A1 for quite some time, before realising that 'Scotch Corner' is the top most part of the A1 and as I lived in Leeds I probably shouldn't be going up there. So I turned round and got on the right route. Quite scary with all the wind beating me about the road and my bike not being overly fast.

Then I got on the Squires to home run and had some fun, going a wee bit too fast in the twisties and hanging off at every opportunity, just for a laugh and to test the bike. Then I got home, and took this picture, quite a nice snap in my opinion. To round off a really fun day.

Cheers for reading. Thumbs Up

Wink Not just because of the cleanliness - it's the best bike ever made (my opinion of course). That's bloody cheap for such well kept exotica.

Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Dodsi. Why do you have that sticker on your bike (see picture)? The Japanese were made to change that flag as part of their surrender agreement at the end of the second world war. Could cause offence to some people. It is a little like displaying a nazi swastika.

Done a little more research. The flag was banned under the Treaty of San Fransisco which prevented Japan from having armed forces. It was used originally by the Japanese Navy as its Naval Ensign and was the Japanese "war flag" during WW2.

Apparently it is back in use again by the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force. This still makes it an odd thing to put on your motorcycle, especially in this country given its assosciation with WW2.

Just thought Id say this as you may not know, but haven driven large vechiels it is FUCKING hard to see cars. let alone bikes when there in the blind spot, so I think it was more of a case of you being in the blind spot than him not looking, I try to sit up straight if im in the mirrors and I can see the driver, just to make sure he can see me better, Or I just dont go alongside big vechiels unless Im sure I can power threw infront of it.

If you cant see the driver in the mirriors, they cant see you.

And that looks like a fucking cool trip you had, whish I was there.

I do sit up, and I was near the back of the lorry, and if he had looked he would have seen me, I saw his indicators come on and him starting moving lanes and I had to push right over to the kerb and sort of duck out of his way. The big stupid div. Laughing

The RC was better in real life, really nice bike. It goes up in value the more you don't ride it, will be worth about double it's value in 9 or 10 years. If kept nice and lovely looking Smile

I think I know dodsi reasonably well enough to say that he would never, ever put a sticker on a bike. So therefore I must assume it was on the bike when he bought it a couple of weeks ago. I would imagine it's hiding a crack or scratch, like my sv was with its 12 stickers. Sad

You will be glad to know I have taken all but the factory stickers off the bike now, and to my suprise the only decals that were covering anything were the ones on the hugger - must have been a shop soiled carbon hugger so got it cheap.

Them crappy jap flags were taken off.

Only had that bike about 2 weeks, if that.
