well i have phoned up four company's now and had bad news from each of them, they have all screwed me up, and threw me on the floor and stamped on me! Sad

I really want to buy a CBR 400 RR but the insurance is just too high!

1) i phoned bennets and they said £1500 TPFT and £1200 for TPO! Shocked

2) Phoned Bikerteam and they wouldnt quote because i hadnt had my licence for 12 months (does that mean when i do pass my practical test, i will have to wait yet another 12 months before i get even a quote from them!)

3) Norwich wouldnt quote me, have to be over 21

4)phoned 1stquote direct and they wont quote me either!!

from bennets i can get a CB1 TPFT for £700, it really looks like i cant get my hands on my dream bike, and i dont really wont to pay near £1000 TPFT for an NSR 125!
Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad
so i think i will have to stick with a CB1 for my first bike

oh yeah what would be better, a CB1 or a CB400

Those quotes are a joke, your not trying very much. lol.
And bennets are a tad on the expensive side all the time i find.

You should be able to get it at least down to the £500 mark.

On the NSR you should definetly be able to get it round the £400 mark. thats for TPO though.
I managed to get mine to £230. So £500 for you is definetly possible!

*Ahem* if you want that bike lie about the how much its worth say your about it for £1000 or even less if you have to if you have tpo the insurance company wont check wherer you got it from etc unless you have or cause a fatal accident. the main reason your having trouble is because of your age!

i dont want TPO, in my opinion thats just making the bike road legal, and not actually being insured, i dont want to buy the bike and have it damaged and nicked, because then my dream machine would be all gone! plus i go to college and some little nob has already damaged MY moped out of about 12! and they have no cameras or anything for security!

Fair enough then. I can understand that though if the bikes worth say £2000.

The joys of having a knakered bike.
I leave the keys in it, no one touches it,
i leave it running as i go into shops, still no one touches it.

i think its the fact the colour's deter theifs. lol.

but as Dean said its definetly your age i guess, its a bit of a git its like £1000, i think ste paid that much for an NSR on fully comp with no ncb and things though...

well i phoned up performance direct and they said if i had a quote on the bike already and i said yeah £1200 from bennetts TPFT (although it was £1500 Rolling Eyes ) and the bloke came back and said "no bennetts have been competitive there as we cant beat it" and just hung up on me on the spot!

I then phoned insurance 2000 and they quoted £1437 for TPFT!

So its definate it will be around that price no matter what, i will probably end up saving around £50 from company to company Crying or Very sad

any one got any ideas! Embarassed

Gotta say ppl give up way to easily these days....you got 1 quote!!! and it was from Bennetts, like the Franklin Mint of the Bike Insurance world.

There's hundreds of companies in the back of MCN/Bikemart to phone up....do some proper ringing around and you'll get a decent premium. And bike value won't affect your premium much, upto about £4000 it won't make a lot of difference at your age it's mainly the 3rd party insurance that your paying for. Having said all this I wouldn't expect you to get a TPFT quote of anything less than about £800

fill the forms in for all the company's listed in the url I gave.

I was expecting to pay around the grand mark for my insurance and most places came in at about £900 a few at £800 and a few over a grand which got laughed at.

after I filled in the forms for all of the companies I ended up with a handfull of quotes at the £400 mark! one just under as well!

granted I dont think you will save that much, but you can do better - so start filling them in! DONT GIVE UP Rolling Eyes

The best thing is to get some quotes in then slightly exaggerate when they ask you for your best quote. I know you tried this once before but it usually does work.

Try some of these.
