had my er5 for a few weeks now and notched up about 1 ton miles.

saw a foot pump in asda tofay for a fiver and thought it may come in handy. anyway....when checking the pressure i was told that the front had only 10 psi and rear 20 psi. haynes say front should be 32 and rear 36.

can anyone vouch for the accuracy of these cheap gauges on foot pumps or can u reccomend a more accurate tyre pressure gauge.

cheers

seconded, about the only thing that fits hassle free through bikes with large twin brake discs as well

gauges on pumps are shit and innaccurate, and nearly always break

I bought a digital key-ring type thing from Halfords (~£5, IIRC). It claims to be accurate within 1psi... no idea how true that is, but that seems to be the standard deviation most of them have. (This thing, in fact)

My tires felt quite a bit more stable after re-inflating them based on that thing Wink

Get a £5 digi one from halfrauds, and use it when you're doing your pressures, not just when checking them.

I bought one of them a couple of years ago after seeing it tested in Performance Bikes, along with a load of other gauges. The cheapy Halfords one came out top for accuracy as I recall Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
