Car hit me from behind on April 7th...
Got the estimate through today, £1500.
That's the value of the bike
There's a frame on the estimate (discontined item), but don't know if thats the main frame or subframe. Either way it's £300 and not available from Honda any more.
Oh well, least I won't have to worry about selling it now.
Might buy it back and rebuild it though, if it is the subframe.

Unlucky, if it's just the subframe you could probably get someone to weld you one up, considering it isn't really under much stress and it's probably quite simple.
Hope the insurance goes through ok.
Cool video, shame about the music. ____________________ Go back to bed - You have no rights - "Streetfighters ~ Mainstream motorcycling's crackwhore sister." |

I was pretty gutted when I got hit by a car and my bike written off. But in the end it worked out all good. I had a 2004 bike with 10k miles on and ended up with a 2005 bike with 500 miles on it. Got new leathers, lid etc and am still waiting for the compensation.
Chin up mate - it will all come good in the end
The insurance payouts got me my custom title

Cheers Joe That's how I'm trying to look at it, should get me a nice new bike/car with the money
My parents want me to get a car before another bike, which is fair enough, but I'm getting my bike test done as soon as I get paid out. Even if I don't get a bike straight away at least I'll have my licence that way
I'm claiming for a new lid/gloves etc, too
Cheers

Yeh, they give it back. Well.. 2 of my mates have also been knocked off (says a lot about the cagers in my area), and they've both been given the bikes back + the cash, they didn't even buy them back
If it's a Cat C write off, it can go back on the road... right? You just have to get an exam done on it or something, IIRC...

Yeah Cat C can go back on the road.
My mates old bike was taken out by a car, side on - cat C write off, his dad now has it.
Basically put a bit of bodywork on it and hes good to go.
Cat C Basically means that the damage was cosmetic and that the overall cost of parts + labour is bigger than the price they have listed in their book - or it can be repaired and they dont wanna do it.
So it cost pennies to repair his bike because he didnt pay any labour charges ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... Gilera GSM 50 ... Honda NSR 125 Aug '04 ...
