I always get a damp piece of kitchen roll (Bounty is best) and lay it across the visor so that it covers it completely. Leave it for 30 seconds or so then peel it off. This will take off most of the crap, then you can wipe it gently dry with another piece.
If you feel the need, you can then polish it with some Mr Sheene (it shines umpteen things clean) and a soft/clean duster. This has kept my visor good for 2 summers - just remember to be fairly gentle with it.

I just use fairy liqued and water.

Get a tear off for it ( if u got the right visor ) as Irradium rubs off after about 10x cleaning it. And it looks all shit.

I've had mine 3 years,still perfect.

Warm soapy water and dry with a soft towel, not kitchen roll,it will scratch the surface.

I wipe mine with baby wipes then buff up with my T shirt.
It's always good to keep a few under your seat when out in the summer to clean your visor as and when it's needed.

I thought you shouldn't use Fairy Liquid, because it does nasty things to the sun and makes it hard to see?

Yeah - that and it's really cruel to fairies - they kill 100's of them for each bottle!
