Bollocks,

How do i adjust the clutch cable? Today I installed a new hadnle bar but on the test ride a few minutes ago the clutch was slipping at high revs (where the power band is)

I know I recently had an oil change to fully synth Castrol R4 but that shouldn't and I know it doesn't by 'experience' with the oil isn't the cause of the clutch slipping. I also remember that I also had a play round with the screw/bolt connected up to the clutch which is the clutch cable, but how do I fix the slippage if it's possible through the cable? is this the cause? did I wrongly adjust the cable when messing around with it Confused

Thanks

Err...you shouldn't really be using fully-synth on a standard road bike (especially a 125)...in fact, fully-synth oil is know to cause clutch slip Confused

There should be two adjusters for your clutch - one on the lever and other on the, well, clutch...should just be a case of moving a couple of nuts up or down the cable.

Yeah, That's right that the fully synth can cause slippage but it isn't in this case, i've used this oil for many miles on this bike without any problem what so ever with the R4 oil in it Smile

Errr...So I guess it's the case of messing around with the screw/bolt up by the clutch lever till the slippage stops, that's what I believe is causing it Confused

If it's just been caused by your change of levers, then it's probably just a case of screwing in or out the adjuster on the clutch lever...unless the new levers/handlebars have changed the setup drastically?

Thanks Tin, I'll have a tinker with the screw/bolt tommorow and fine tune it so it stops the slippage.......hopefully!

do you have the amount of slack in the clutch lever that your ment to have, or is the clutch lever tight from the initial pull?

ie when you start to pull the clutch do you have a bit of free play to take up first ? if not you should have a small amount.

if you do have a bit of free play then is it possible your clutch is on the way out?!
