2000 Yamaha R6 in blue
X865 ROH
Stolen from Loughborough (Leicestershire)
Has the 2001 undertray LED lights mod with the built in indicators, white wheels, blue rim tapes, micro arrow front indicators, apart from that it is standard. If you could keep your eye out, would be appreciated. Ta!

PS. How long do insurance usually take to pay out for a theft?

Yeah I'm shocked at how calm I am really, being 19 isn't easy to get that kind of money again. Since my mate got killed in that accident couple of weeks ago kinda put everything in perspective. But still.. I want my fucking bike !

Knowing the insurance they will come round and find a way to get out of it. Even then were talking weeks before I get a vehicle again, and by the time I sort out insurance again etc summers gone. Time for a car I think my biking days are over.

I'll keep an eye out next time I'm down Derby way (and anywhere else for that matter).

Don't give up just yet, the good weather's just round the corner Thumbs Up. You can pack it in when the weather starts getting bad again Very Happy

Hope the insurance gets sorted pretty quickly. Are you Fully Comp or just TPFT? Karma

I think it's 3 months (?) before they pay out in case it gets recovered.

Hard luck mate, hope it's not too damaged if you do get it back. Thefts usually payout in about 4-8 weeks I believe.

how did it get nicked? where was it? did you have it in the garage, did you have a disc lock on, or chain etc? steering lock even? curious to know, as theft is the big bastard with bikes.

Evil or Very Mad Wankers!

My Senda SM125 was insured with them and they were the biggest load of tossers I've ever dealt with. When it was stolen it had 42 miles on the clock, 3 weeks later it turned up with about 500 odd miles and completely shagged. They sent an engineer to examine it, who said in it's pre-accident state it was worth £1600, when I'd paid £2800 for it. Obviously I refused, but what did NIG do? They decided they weren't going to pay any more than that, and sent the cheque off to the finance company. It wasn't until I got a letter from the finance company saying I still owed them over a grand that I found out what they'd done, and the tossers still had the cheek to tell me they didn't think it was worth any more. I had to contact the dealer I got it from and get him to send off documentation proving it was worth more. It still took 4 months for them to pay me out, and all that time I was still paying the finance.

I seriously recommend avoiding NIG at all costs, if you get a quote from a broker and that's who it's with, walk away, they're fucking useless wankers.

/rant over

Sorry to hear about your bike mate, best keep checking eBay, if anything turns up it might be an idea to take an interest. Dont give up on bikes just yet mate, summer's almost here!

Make sure that you specify that you NEED a bike to do work, college, whatever. That way they will give you a curtesy bike. It also needs to be something up for Motorway work which means you want a decent capacity bike - tell them this as otherwise you will get a 125...

Whether you do or don't need one is irrelevant. It will be costing the insurance company money to pay for one so it will cause them to speed the payout process up.

Not necessarily going to happen tho. The insurance company I used to work for would not give a courtesy car on theft claims (or damage claims if the car had been written off) as it was no incentive for the insured to get a new car of their own. They now do offer them but only if you pay an extra £25 a year.

The amount of extras you added onto the bike also amounted to quite a lot, especially since you repaired your fairing after that spill. I can probably guarantee that some chav in Lufbra is ragging that bike up and down epinal way.

Well at least you still have your dad's RXS100 if ever you need a bike - it's a pretty good bike too.

Can use the CB400 Superfour if I need, or mums Punto.. but not as bling as the R6! Oh well it happens can think of worse things.. like getting raped. Doubt it will be ridden again complete, it'll be in bits and sold on.

If it means you get a bike/money back faster than a mere £25 is not really that much extra to pay is it Confused If you want to skimp on that to find yourself in the situation where you have to get the bus/train to work for 3 months as your only mode off transport is gone then fine!.

You didn't skimp on full legal cover either did you Mal? as on a bike not having full legal is a very bad idea Neutral .
