Arrow When changing direction for a left / right hand turn
Arrow Just prior to turning right / left
Arrow Before a U turn
Arrow After a E stop
Arrow Prior to overtaking
Arrow Prior to pulling away either from curb or lights (both shoulders)

Its designed to alow you to check the blind spots, plus, its a nice visual way of telling other raod users that you are about to do something like change direction

When changing lane, going round a corner or when setting off normally. I do it sometimes when going round a sharp corner, etc etc.

Them too Mr. Green Embarassed. When overtaking I check my right shoulder to pull out for my overtake, and my left one to pull back infront of the vehicle I was overtaking, just incase they got the narks on and decided to speed up (as car drivers do).
