As i am sure many of u are aware, this is not ideal and certainly not fun. I own a standard 03 gsxr 600 with BT 014s tyres. The bike's suspension is set to the factory settings, as is the pressure of both tyres. both front and rear tyres are quite new (600 miles). i have been pushing the bike more and more recently (i would place myself as a fast social rider but slower than an intermediate track day rider) and twice over the weekend, the front end slid whilst cornering hard. i havent had this before and wondered why it might be happening and importantly, what i could adjust to prevent it from happening again - i assume the only things that will affect this are tyres, tyre pressure and the various suspension adjustments that can be made (which i have to confess i dont understand so if someone could also help me out here that would be good). i didnt notice any signifiicant bumps in the road when the sliding happened, but i guess the faster your going the less bump you need to create this sliding feel??

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Jon

I've had that a lot mate, probably felt the front end go about 4-5 times, and had the rear spin up about the same amount of times.

Like you I'm running 014's and my pressures were spot on and suspension was standard, so I'd say it's just a bit of crap on the road. A few times I've gone back past the spot I felt it go and had a look at the road and there's nothing visible, so you just put it down to experience.

Add quarter turn at a time of fork compression, assuming your sag has been set up right and there being no other defects...
