The previous owner must have peeled them off, I don't see why it wouldn't be up to BS.

You can always buy the stickers off ebay if a helmet doesn't have one.

Hi,

It is not possible to tell from the picture. To be road legal it must have a Britsh standard or E mark in it.

The E mark is proabaly of a sticker or a bit of material sewn into the lining. it will be a circle with E6 in and a number above like 050013-P

A picture of what it should look like
https://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/dft_roads/documents/graphic/dft_roads_506862-2.gif

The details of the rules
https://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/dft_roads/documents/page/dft_roads_506862.hcsp

The visor also needs to be E marked to be legal.

Regards
C

Was it second hand? or has it been resprayed?

It may of been in a accident if it was second hand and had the stickers peeled off... normally it says void on it lough or somthing. Dont really see why your worrying anyway, Unless it is second hand, and you just shouldnt buy second hand helmets.. Thumbs Up

Somewhere around the fastening strap the longer side without the buckle usually there should be a tag sewn on that says E11 within a circle,

All helmets should have these if they are DOT approved. Thumbs Up

Hi,

How can you tell its legal from the picture, just because its legal elsewhere in the world does not mean would be here it must have the European stamp on it.

You don't know if it's a cheap non-legal one which has been resprayed, or a counterfeit one which does not meet standards. Can't just assume this and tell people it's fine, as they could come off and die due to a substandard helmet, which would kind of be your fault as you told them it's fine to ride in.

I wouldn't use a second hand helmet anyway. Get a cheap new one which conforms to standards.

Matt

Very doubtful. It would be cheaper to buy the AGV rep lid.
