On my ZXR400 the tyres state a 'max load of 42psi' cold.

Should i inflate to that max load with my weight on or somewhere just below that?

In the manual for your bike it will state the pressures for normal riding, and it normally states the pressure for carrying pillions too (normally just a few more psi in the back).

Stick to this, the max load is just the maximum that the tyre can take, not what it should actually be inflated to.

It also depends how you ride, if you ride hard quite a lot your tyres will run hotter and will benefit from having less pressure in when cold.

While we are on the subject, does 33psi sound about right for a cb400sf?

Bloody imports with no english manuals! Smile

most tyre manufacturer websites will recommend the tyre pressure for that particular tyre for your bike

take a look if you dont have the proper guide in the handbooks
