Where Is My CDI located ?????????????

My bike is a 1986 GPZ1000.

I suspect a fault on my CDI as i am getting no low tension feed to one of my coils, pick up coils and coils check out ok.

Problem is i cannot find the CDI i have stripped off Airbox and carbs and all fairings but its location is still a mystery.

My digital ignition unit was hidden under my pillion seat...checked there?

Find your coils, they will be plugged into the cdi unit Wink

Under the seat is where they tend to live afaik, but then ive only ever had hondas Razz

There are no rairings,seat or airbox on but cant see it. Cant trace from coils as they are right at front and wires dissappear into loom after about 2 inch.

On my GPZ500 the IC igniter is located under the right hand side plastic, directly under where the pillions right bum-cheek would be. Looks like a black box about the size of two packets of fags with two multi-pin connectors (one large, one small) attached to it.

I would have thought yours would be similar as the wiring for a paralell twin is pretty much identical to that for an inline four.

It's either under a rear panel or under the seat next to the fusebox.
