cdi unit help

Howdy all.

Not sure if anyone can help please.

I'm sure the cdi unit is located behind the rear lights.

Have a 2001 import NSR after being told they are restricted in the cdi unit i decided to buy a second hand 2001 cdi unit for a uk specification NSR.

But they are different.

The import unit has a socket built into the unit while the uk specification unit has a wire loom coming out of it.

Different coloured wires and plugs.

Has anyone rewired a uk cdi unit into a import bike?

Hi,

The CDI unit is located under the tank not at the back of the bike.
I had an import but never managed to fully derestrict it. Top speed about 85 mph. If you have a problem with the bike struggling to get through the power band then you might find a white and orange link that needs to be removed from the unit by the tail lights.
