Opened the garage door to be hit with a huge stench of petrol - beautiful Laughing

Seems like the fuel hose is split, there was unleaded all over the floor.

What I didn't expect was the crystalisation all along the fuel line. Is this normal and what would cause this?

Just a little split in the top of the rubber, prob my fault as i've had it on and off a few times recently.

But why the crystalisation though??

The evaporation of the fuel causes moisture in the atmosphere to freeze at the point of evaporation.

Same lines as carb icing. Same as licking the back of your hand, apart from petrol evaporates quicker, so it removes heat quicker.
