All the best

Friend has a new D she has the gel seat, its soooooo nice

I want one soo much I ust stand there prodding the squishyness of it for ages.

She offered me ago on it... but I declined seeing as I cant afford to fix it if i break it Embarassed

She works at trump so her and her 5 collegues all have the new D in every colour it's available in, hers is purple, best colour by far is teal, the silver sucks, looks like it's been out on a wet winter day.

If they can afford a new D they can afford to fix a crashed one,

if they can't they are silly to spend all their money on the bike and have no reserve funds.

Laughing I thought it was yours McJam, and was wondering why people were making such inane remarks. Then - 'doesn't he work at Triumph?' Thinking Embarassed

At least I can say this now - what a nonce. Laughing

Jay - I'll let you know what is happening with the seat and see what I can do for you. There is already someone after the scrap so they can have a trackbike.

This guy pulled out to overtake a line of traffic in a 30 zone and a car ahead turned right without looking. However, the rider said that he was doing 'about 20' when he hit and had been 'on his front wheel braking hard for 15 metres'. Too fast? Methinks.

The parts bill is £5300 - plus VAT.

Not blind - far from it. That is every part that is even slightly marked, although when the clock are £500 and the rad over £300, its not that hard to see where the rest came from. The rest of the list includes front and rear subframes, swinger, both forks, tank, complete fairing, engine covers, switchgear, bar, pegs and hangers....

But how many people who have been ripped off for insurance will then say "nah, the forks are only scratched, I won't claim for them"?

High prices is why insurance repairs cost a fortune.

All the best

It doesn't take much damage for an insurance firm to write a vehicle off. They also think in terms of the labour hours required not just the cost of the parts. So for example if the frame was scratched it would require a total strip down to repaint/replace it.

Hi

Spare parts cost a load, anything damaged will be quoted to be replaced and insurance companies tend to write off vehicles when damage amounts to about 2/3 the value.

Suspect the fairing panels are at least another £1000, same for the forks, another £500 for the tank, etc.

Guess why fully comp for a learner on a faired bike costs a stupid amount.

All the best

Keith

When my RX50 was priced up for repair, used parts cannot be fitted by a garage, they have to order new shiny stuff,

also alot of that cost estimate will be labour, if the owner wanted they could buy the bike back and repair it them selves, I'm sure it would sell well as these bikes are in demand are they not?

They can, but wouldn't for an insurance job.

£5300+vat is the parts bill, labour is on top of that.

All the best

How is it daylight robbery? Insurance is there to put you/the bike in the same state as before the accident. That means no dinks on the swingarm, no scratches on the tank and nobent forks. If these things need replacing then they need replacing, blame the guy who rode into the car not the guy who did the insurance estimate.

if the bike can be sold for about £7,500 then why on earth should all of the parts together cost more than that!!!

the parts prices should be cheaper, thus making insurance cheaper!!!!
