Hey, today was this first time I went for a short ride on my scooter around town and noticed the needle was stuck at 0mph. I think a possible reason it is sticking is because it hasn't had much use, I think the last time I used it before today was last Thursday and has been stuck outside under a cover since then. So basically I need to know if there are any simple solutions to unstick my needle again? It's a Peugeot Vivacity 50cc btw..sigh...

get the speedo out, take out the cable.

pour loads of oil down the cable, and spray WD40 into the speedo itself. Should sort it.

Don't actually travel on it and there ain't a problem! D'oh!

C'mon, someone had to say it! Rolling Eyes

As stated above, but go easy on the WD40 and oil, too much could just feck it all up. Too much oil/WD40 could have the needle sticking again!

Has any damp got onto the paper speed indicator disc? Dry it out and re-seal the clock if it has.

I've seen a lot of speedo drives break on scooters. If not the cable then it's probably that.
