I am taking my test next week as well. 2 days training then test, been riding for a year and a half and am bored too, also have a bike sitting in the garage waiting for me.

The main ones I hear of people failing on are u-turns, observation, road positioning and emergency stops.

Thats the same situation as I was in. But 2 weeks after passing my test I couldn't handle the slow speeds of a 125 and sold it and bought my 600 Thumbs Up

Test is a piece of cake mate. I just failed mine lol. My riding was complimented by the examiner just I failed to leave enough space whilst stationary behind a wagon. I left about 10ft but instructor said there was no way the wagon driver couldve seen me. I guess I shouldve moved over to the left so he could see me I dunno? There was a cycle lane there mind.. I'll make sure before I go in my next test I know what to do.. At least my instructor said I did excellent after seeing my score slip thing even though I failed. They were all expecting minors in areas where I got none Very Happy

by the time ive rebooked I wouldve spent almost £1k trying to get my full licence. DONT even ask! AND ive only taken 1 test!

I really do hate examiners, 1st time i failed he failed me for not being close enough to the middle of the road when turning right, probably didnt help that i pleaded my innocence in that i generally dont want my foot run over by traffic coming the other way. I'd like to see him do a perfect U turn on a tiny up hill road.

Apart form the obvious U turns, speeding, wrong lanes etc

Many people fail because they suddenly forget everything they have been taught previously. They feel pressurized to perform and do silly, risky things that they would never usually do or even think of doing.

The examiner justs wants a nice, steady, safe ride. He wants you to make good progress where appropriate and hold back on others where caution is required

I am currently riding the ever exciting Yamaha Sr125 and have a GS500 waiting for me. Sadly I have to wait to get it restricted on the 3rd May which costs £130 which is a bit of a fecking joke.

And that £130 is pretty much for the certificate cos 3-4 washers dont cost more than a few quid at absolute most.. Ironically noone is responsible for checking that its restricted AND ive heard some insurance companies dont even ask to see the certificate... The A2 is a waste of time. You could take the restriction out and how could the police tell?! With the cost of a full licence its no wonder ppl are taking the A2 and riding unrestricted!

well done on passing

it will take a while to find a position that you are comfy in on the bike, so keep trying different ones.

on a sportsbike
my view is, dont bend your wrists, dont support your upper body with your arms, sit far back and bend forward over the tank. try to keep your forearms parallel with the ground

some people ride a sportsbike as if it is a sit up and beg bike and then wonder why they get sore wrists.
