Just wondering really,

I just picked up a 2003 ZX6R with only 3700 miles on it, and to me thats amazingly low for something that is 3 years old! I mean, i`ve owned it for 2 weeks and have already taken that up to 5500 miles.

The thing is, in the biking world this doesnt seem all that unusual, come on guys are there really bikers out there that only do 1000 miles a year!! How do you live with so little bike time? or do you just own 10 bikes and do 1000 on each one?

I don't know about anyone else, but throughout the winter i was on the bike whenever i could be, and seemed to develop an immunity to the freezing cold, and the thought of going a few weeks let alone 6 months without riding is a terrible thought!

I've got a funny feeling robby might be able to get under 1000 miles on the last year with his sv...could be mistaken though....? Laughing

Probably about 17k for me or thereabouts...soon to half if I graduate and get a company car. Thumbs Up

Done 2500miles since february 17th, not done anyrideouts yet, that's just pootling to college/work.

When I get on rideouts I expect it to increase,

so thats at least 10000 a year, so thats what I voted.

Bought Geeperz in september, had 8000miles on clocks, now has 13500. So not alot really compared to the 125's but I havent been doing rideouts..lost my biking oomph lately...

o no wait, preoccupied with year 13. Rolling Eyes

6000 on the bike a year and over 30000 a year in the car. I seem to spend most my life on the road. Confused

I dont do half as much as I used to. In the days before I had a car licence I was probably doing upwards of 20,000 a year, but now I have a company car it's nearer 2000. Embarassed

I've done just under 10K since the end of July last year. God knows what my monthly average is, but I always seem to take the long routes to get places, or I'll leave 10-15 minutes early just so I can get a little go on the bike.

I put 4000 miles on the SV since december, so that would work out to about 12,000 a year

In the region of 40,000 a year.

I did 37k in my first 12 months.

Then a further 41k in the second.

So thats 78k in 2 years.

Shocked Cool

28000 miles in commuting alone, probably another 10000+ in test rides, maybe another 6000 in fun rides.

Im sorry but you need to add at least one more option on the poll. I've already clocked 20k miles and I havent even had the CBR a year yet...

I did about 12k last year on my GPZ...

Dad only manages 1000 a year on his CBX550. This is mainly down him not having the time to ride it... and when he does ride it he gets tired so easily he rarely manages a long ride!

Probably at least 10000 commuting plus any pleasure miles / transport elsewhere. That probably works out around 15000 a year these days by bike.

All the best

at a guess, I'm looking at 14000 miles..

40 mile round trip each day to work (9000 miles).. a week touring in france (2000 miles) various weekends up north, or in wales (1000 each) plus other assorted rides throughout the year (2000)

which is why I've got high mileage bikes and car... I'm actually doing LESS mileage now than i used to.. at one point in 2003, I was doing and average of 1000 miles a working week in the car, plus other stuff at the weekends...

Thunderace: 56000 miles, bought with 42000 last march
FJR: 47000 miles, bought with 45000 last month
Car: 84000 miles, aquired with 42000 in April '04
GpZ (now dead) aquired with 72000 miles in '02, crashed 5 months later with 86000 miles.

I've owned my Aprilia since 2001 and it's just cleared 5500km. I'm always driving vans and trucks for work, so it's only a weekend toy really.
