I've given up trying, as a ducker and diver, I do fine. Got a nice little part-time job with the Royal Mail for the last 4 years, do okay buying and selling junk etc, but can't get employment elsewhere.

So fuck it, I've started replying to rejection letters. I've just given up, totally. It's their loss. Stuff 'em. I don't even care ab0ut burnt bridges any more.

Dear Ms. Adams

Thankyou for your application to DHL Exel Supply Chain.

Unfortunately after careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with your application. Due to the high specifications required, it was highlighted that other candidates more closely met our requirements.

Your application will be kept on file for a period of three months.

We appreciate your interest in the role and the company. Wishing you every success in your career development.

That would make me keep your application and letter on file for a long time, to ensure I never hired you for any other positions.

Suits me. Cool

Like I say, I no longer care for the 9 to 5,

Really, I don't. I've given up trying to fit in, I don't fit in I don't seem to be able to fit into the mainstream.

whatever, does it matter? I just wanted to vent some steam.

. Peace, love to all bikers

Thumbs Up

Dear Ms. Adams

Thank you for your rejection letter regarding DHL Exel Supply Chain.

Unfortunately after careful consideration, I have decided not to use your services for any of my internet or Ebay businesses. Due to the high specifications required (thanks a bunch for the time you stuck a “sorry you were out” label on my front door for all and sundry to see by the way), it was highlighted that other courier companies more closely met my own import and export requirements. UPS for example.

Your rejection notice will be recycled.

I do not appreciate your complete lack of judgement or lack of interest in me. I don't wish you every success in your career development – it would seem that the feeling is mutual.

Yours sincerely

You know, other than that one insert, a letter like that might get you noticed second time round as I'm sure they don;t get many responces in that manner to rejection letters...however that one line took it from being tongue in cheek to down right bitter....lol, try them without the bitterness and you might get a responce Laughing

you would do better trying to see if there was a way in for discrimination of any kind related to your application so you could actually make some money!!

If you don't fit in then you just have to go with it. A job with Royal Mail isn't that bad is it?

a better reply to a rejection letter is to ask for some feedback on where you could improve your skills and/or experience.. It might even be something as simple as they didn't like your CV, but you Have the skills.. knowing this stuff will help you no end. Bear in mind that if they receive 1000 CVs/applications.. they will get the briefest of looks before going into the bin, or the interview pile.

not only do you find out where you're lacking, but they are more likely to come back to you in a few months if they need someone else, cos they know you're willing. they might even have a second, more in depth, look at your application and think "hold on, lets get him and see what he's like".. it does happen, I've done it.

If i received a reply to a rejection letter like that, I'd laugh at it, and you and probably forward it around various mailing lists I'm on and while we're having a laugh at it, it's probbaly also putting nails in your coffin with any of those employers I deal with...

taking rejections like a man, and not throwing the toys out the pram is far more reasonable, and more liekly to get you noticed than an immature knee jerk response.

I keep most of my rejection letters, just so that I could reflect on what I had to go through to get to where I am, and what I will have to face up to to get to where I want to be. A few years down the line, when you look at them, you will find yourself saying 'you haven't done badly for yourself my boy'. What I found most gutting, was receiving the CV's I sent in back, along with the rejection letter. It just seems to be saying 'why did you even bother applying'.

Dear Mr. Brown

Thankyou so much for your prompt response to our letter of rejection it's nice to know that despite our use of double ply A4 paper not all letters of this type are used for the removal of dog faeces.

I am extremely sad to hear that you’ve taken our response as a rebuttal of your obvious talents. Indeed it surprises me that you did in fact have the time to attend an interview let alone reply to our communication in view of the fact that you feel that to discontinue the utilisation of DHL’s service for your successful business(es) would mean an extreme downturn in our operating profits.

I hear great things about Ebay and am positive that should you continue to concentrate your astute business brain down this avenue you will be a millionaire within no time at all by selling the contents of your bedroom. My 6 year old son was only telling me this morning that there’s always a market for Abba CD’s, second hand Wrangler jeans and Postman Pat duvet covers.

Good Luck.

DHL

That only works if somebody says yes , when everybody says no , you keep rejection letters for when you mentally snap go to your local arms dealer and get tooled up to pay them a visit.
