Never too far for the first time.

General rules:

Don't lean against the bike, or try to lean the bike yourself. Just go with it.

Don't jump off the bike while it is moving, sounds stupid but it does happen.

Try to enjoy the ride, and don't try making signals to other users, or give them the rods or anything.

That's about all you'll need, try to sit comfortably too seen as it's a long way, and don't fidget. If the rider is going too fast, give him a quick signal to slow down, only go as fast as you are comfortable with.

Thumbs Up Enjoy.

Establish some rules as in when I want to nail the bike I tap my wifes thigh then she knows to grip like f*ck and I know she hasn't fallen off the back as well Laughing And likewise if you want the rider to slow down a tap on the arm or something.

Basically what phantomtek said. Just lean with the bike, and don't fidget.

another thing which piss's me off wen i take one of my mates home some times, he likes to look were hes going which is fine but he dunt just turn his head to look past mine he moves his whole body to one side of the bike which is realy not that nice to handle.

my advice would be the same as sed b4 tho just keep sat in the centre of the pillion seat and try to stay directly behind the rider as not to put the guy off balence, dont worry to much about turning your head to look around i just advise not shifting your weight to do so

The advice I usually give to my first timer pillions is to wrap their arms around my waist as opposed to the grab rails. This way usually means that they lean where I need to lean.
