Who said anything about leathers? I actually bought some rollerblade kneepads and used them as sliders.

It is actually a little hard to do the hitler salute when KDing as you really need to keep the front end steady. The bike feels the need to drop in as you do it and you get lower and lower. I tried it when I first learnt KD, and the front tried to drop in. Didnt try it again for a few months!

I could do it easy on my bike. Felt stable. Confused

Just literally let go of the handlebar and lift your leg up. Not very hard.
