Nope, it has to be a 50cc for you to be legal at your age.

Could always take it offroad though...

Any 50cc is a good bike as they go the same speed and do more or less the same thing. Get the cheapest 50cc you can afford and then wait a year til you can get your G/F's dad's DT, which is a cracking bike.

I can recommend you the Piaggio NRG / Piaggio Typhoon. You can source any of these for about 400-500 quid and all it needs is a sip of fuel every 100 miles for 4 quid and 2 stroke oil and you'll happily be enjoying your biking. Having a geared 50cc bike will be slightly more expensive but you will get used to the controls of a "proper" bike. I can recommend RS50's if you like race reps - doesn't matter if you get one with a smashed fairing as you're bound to drop it anyway, trust me. That or a DT50 / TS50 will also be adequate for your beginner needs. Don't buy a new moped and don't spend more than 700-800 quid for one.

Happy biking then Thumbs Up

Keep it rubber side down

Check loot, then ebay for bargains. Autotrader seems a more reliable source of genuine bikes. Check they're also not stolen by doing a HPI check or request for one before you buy.

Trail / Supermoto style bikes are good to learn on if you want to learn gears. You will have a lot more fun on a geared bike than a auto scooter type thing, i know i would just get bored of a scooter after a few months. Plus they are a lot cheaper to fix than something like a rs50 if you drop it. If you are going to buy the bike on ebay make sure you view it before you bid, you dont want some thing thats knackered (which many 50s are due to poor maintenance)
