After reading this article > https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/tm_objectid=16904986%26method=full%26siteid=94762-name_page.html

I have started to get really annoyed with idiots riding motorbikes and giving the rest of us a bad rep and therefore making our joys of motorbike riding more frowned upon and more expensive.

There is many examples at my college were I am the only motorcyclist above 100cc (I've got a 125) and the only one to wear leathers and gloves aswell as my lid at all times. One lad just wears his lid with no clovers and just a t-shirt and jeans and rides an Aerox 50

I have no problem with smaller motorcycle users or sharing the roads with less experianced riders because I used to be in both of them catagories and we all got to start somewere.

It is all the idiot ar5eh0les that I hate.

What do you think?

didn't notice the no helmet if his son didn't have one then just shoot the n00b, thing is tho its a nver ending cycle. jail sentance they can't do as prison are all ready over run and big fines which scrotes never pay anyway so its only worse for when the norm decide to do something a sur of the moment and get fookerd for it. i.e ride a mini bike round the corner to your mates house or round a carpark.

i am assuming that the mini motorbike is what we know as a mini moto

they dont go much faster than push bikes and you dont have to wear a helmet on one of them

i know mini motos arent road legal, but the only thing that makes them more dangerous than push bikes is that they are so low its easy for car drivers not to see them

a bit daft having the kid on the handlebars, but probably not any more dangerous than all the drivers who drive without the glasses they need to see properly

its easier to spot a mini moto rider than someone who should be using specs tho

I'm a loon, I ride fast, overtake dangerously, make rude hand gestures at slow and annoying cages, wear anti-speed camera t-shirts and burn large amounts of petrol to help warm up the atmosphere and pro-long summers.

But once off the bike I'm a really nice person so you still willing to shoot me?

Remember that a rider is a human being, not an extension of the machine they ride. They prob have a family, kids, decent and important job role and contribute to society. Talking about shooting someone for being an idiot on occasion is just plain childish...

If the idiot could get a family of four killed by mis-timing an overtake and colliding head on with their car, it could be a cost saving measure. 1 life lost vs 4 lives lost.

however mini moto bloke wd have just got himself or his kid or both killed so that wd be 1 vs 2.

Its difficult to say that someone is dangerous enough that you know they will get other people killed one day though.

I say bollox to the lot of you.

Motor biking is what you make it, not what people tell you to make it.

If some one gives you a dirty look because you have not got the latest Rossi rep leathers, f*ck them.

Maybe the people who ride in tshirts cant afford all the gear straight away because there getting shafted with insurance, maybe they have not been told why they need them.

I will occasionally ride in jeans and an armoured jacket as it feels better, I feel a right nob in leathers. Some people just are not made to wear them hence why they dont.

Just leave people to ride and to enjoy motorcycling how they want to do it, not what we think they should do.

Did anyone actuly look at the link? He was riding on the pavement with his 20 month old son on the handlebars.

Nothing to do with not wearing armors but what if he'd hit a bump or someone on the pavement and his son was dropped or thrown from the vehicle.

Well said McGee, whoever started this should stop acting like my nan. We ride bikes for enjoyment, being a tit on a bike is often the point of having one
If a nice leather suit costed a little less, maybe i would buy one, im happier wearing my jeans and a hoody

i reckon a fancy one could go 60mph, but a chineses copy maybe 30 or 40.

You can do that sort of speed on a push bike going dowhnill and they dont have to wear helmets. A cyclist in leathers would get laughed at even if it was sensible.

Thats all true but the whole point is he was on the pavement with a small child who had no choice in it and no protection what so ever stuck on the handlebars.

adults have a choice within the law the kid didnt.

not really mate, he was riding a motorised vehicle on the payment with a baby (not a child, a 20 month old baby) on the tank, it was dangerous and he's a fucking muppet. Just would of taken one person to step out in front of him and the kids dead. I'm sick of seeing chav scum riding mini motos down the payment personally, see it too much where I live.
The point is they're unlicensed, untaxed and uninsured. Stack your bike because one of them swerved into the road ahead of you or cuts you up and you're gonna be into a nightmare trying to claim. If you go down best take the fucker with you, because he's not stopping otherwise either.

I notice how your poll omits "I really don't care" results, and similarly strongly polarised options voting for the opposite side of the law - it'd be interesting to see how many bikers are into bikes for the danger and the notoriety and do in fact hold four wheelers, along with their tamer "motorcyclist" cousins, in a certain degree of contempt.

Personally, I think that what that lad was absolutely inexcusable, and he deserves everything he gets. Part of biking is the freedom and the fun of putting yourself in danger, and then getting yourself out of it. But putting others in danger, especially a kid, and ESPECIALLY his own kid, is absolutely bloody inexcusable.

Don't get me started on two wheeled safety nazis who demand that everyone who doesn't ride safely and sensibly is a disgrace to biking. The naive tossers that are happy to ride safely and sensibly won't even notice a change when bike legislation gets tighter, as they're hardly likely to be in any direct contravention of biking law. Either way, two wheeled devils advocates "my mate has a bike and he rides it like a loony and i'm qualified to say that because I ride a bike like a scared little pussy and don't really do it because I enjoy it" boil my piss, and are held in my contempt more than cagers.

And that is all I have to say on the matter. On this post anyway Thumbs Up Laughing .

Ok. My point wasn't to try and say that without wearing all leathers at all times means you are an idiot and there for are not a real biker because are not safe enough or what ever.

The point I made about the lad I knew at college is that he has several jackets and I've seen him were them.

We all know why each of us enjoys motorbike riding and we all have our own reasons either it be the feeling of freedom or the danger factor. This is not to say that because someone does things a little different to I means it is wrong.

I agree with what McGee said. I couldn't give 2 feeks either what people think of me. When I had my scooter before my CBR I still wore my leather jacket, lid and gloves. People laughed, but I thought it was the safest way to do it and therefore didn't give a monkeys.

I just don't agree with:
Arrow Chav scum affecting biker rep and therefore cost
Arrow Riding unnecessaraly dangerous...by this I mean not wearing lids, riding on pavements, riding with pillions at high speeds that also have no helmets

We all ride like tw4ts now and again and anyone that says they ride abiding by the law 100% of the time is a blatent lyer, but, dispite this we are all people (I hope) that don't do them kind of idiotic things with no due care and respect for other road users.

As bikers it is almost inate to:

Arrow Act like tw4ts
Arrow Take corners too fast
Arrow Frequently give the universal indicator Middle Finger Twisted Evil
Arrow Over take when we are not supposed to
Arrow Speed
Arrow Have a constant itch to just open up the throttle
Arrow Make old people scared of us

Whether you do all of these things of only a few you are still a bike non the less. Being a complete fool by welcoming avoidable death to other people by not showing some form of safty or knowing your limits and have experiance...you need shooting!
