Hire bike - what should I ask for? What will I get?

After my SV got mangled my insurnace company promised me a hire bike.

2 weeks later, it looks like I might actually get one.

The hire is being arranged through www.hexagonmotorcycles.co.uk/ who cliam to have a range from 50cc to 1300cc.

So, what should I ask for? What kind of bikes are they likely to have, and what would be a good one to have?

I quite fance a CBR600Fi if they've got one, but I'm probably going to end up with a C90

What you want to use it for?

Be careful that you don't end up with a big bill though as you may end up paying it if your claim doesn't go well.

I imagine something like a GS500 wouldn't be out of the picture.

Make sure you tell them you need to do plenty of motorway miles, or you could end up with a 125.

I'd be tempted to ask for an RSV-R Factory if it was me, but I very much doubt they'll give you one of those, .

As Rookie said, might be an idea to go for something like a GS, ER-5 maybe even a Bandit?

would think that they'd give you something in the same CC category at least.
Ask for the MV / Ducatti and settle for a new R6 or something with a groan.

If its through your insurance, then you probably wont have a say in it at all.

They will try and find you something around the same CC as your bike, but probably wont care too much about your bikes style. Eg if you have a zxr they wont neccesarily go out your way to get you another sports.

My mate had this when his 125 went in for insurance claims. They just threw him a ped. Same CC - whats the problem? Also i wouldnt worry too much about the bill, the insurance company should be paying all that for you - well the company who admitted responsability any way.

Either way i would probably guess at a Bandit or similar. Either way i doubt you will have little or any say in it at all realy.

Yeah the CC thing is definately true, when I got knocked of my CBR6 I was given a nearly new hornet (the one getting looked after in my avatar ). When I asked what I would have got if i had a bigger bike the girl said 'we have 900cc hornets for that'. Didnt ask if they had a heyabusa or not!

They normally stock commuters exactly for this purpose, and 9 /10 times thats what youll get.
