I was having a look on autotrader the other day and I came across a nice VFR 400(NC30). I was going to get a bandit 600 as my next bike but now I have seen the VFR I am quite tempted to get that instead. What should I do?

Depends what sort of ride you're after really.

Short fast blasts, occasional trackday, super fast cornering - the 400

Commuting, touring, the more practical side of things - the Bandit.

I will did using it to commute a lot. So prehaps the bandit would be better after all. Had a look at one today and they are a lot bigger than I remember. Did they get a facelift at some point?

I think the facelift was 2000

I have a bandit 600s (1999) and I love it. Its really good handling and is pretty quick. I was told off this site the bandit 600 can do 0-60 in 4.1 second Surprised
What you really need to do is go for a test ride on one.
They are cheap to buy and bargains are out there as I picked mine up about 4 weeks ago for £1200 thats a 1999 reg in black, full service history, only done 3k miles Very Happy (All documents to prove it) and hpi clear

The speed a bike does 0 - 60 in depends ALOT on the weight and skill of the rider. Aswell as the weight and grip of the bike.

Most bikes arnt actually out of 1st gear at 60mph so 0 - 60 times are a crap way to measure performance.

As allready said, if your commuting more than 10 miles per day, the bandit is the best choice.

Get the NC35, RVF 400. Thumbs Up

It looks a little better than the VFR cause its the later model. You also get tarty USD forks and they were made right up to 1998 I believe so you can get a mint condition one thats not too old or high on mileage.

If your after a starting bike i'd recommend the bandit Smile They are comfy, good for commuting and great in traffic, got enough umph aswell!

If you want a cheapish one, i have mine for sale, but the milage is a bit high, but its a good runner Razz
